Privacy Policy
Effective date: 14 August 2026. This policy explains how Ali Equipments ("we", "our") collects and uses your information when you use aliequipments.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, mobile number, password (stored encrypted) and, if you add it, your email address.
- Seller details: business name, city/state, and the machine information, photos and video links you submit.
- Inquiries & leads: messages, callback requests, service requests and We-Buy/Project details you send us.
- Live chat: your name, mobile number and the messages you exchange with our team.
- OTP verification: one-time codes sent via WhatsApp/SMS to verify your number. We store only a secure hash of the code, never the code itself.
- Notifications: if you enable push notifications, your browser's push subscription token.
- Marketing consent: whether you ticked the WhatsApp updates box, and the date and time you did so. That timestamp is what makes the consent verifiable, so we keep it for as long as the consent stands.
- Calling records: when our team calls you about a machine, we record the outcome (connected, busy, no answer), the date, a short note of what was discussed, and any follow-up date agreed. We do not record the audio of calls.
- Business contacts we already hold: names, phone numbers and locations of dealers, operators and site contacts collected in the ordinary course of business β for example a number you gave us at a site visit, exhibition or over the phone β which our team may upload into our system to keep in one place.
- Job applications: if you apply for a role, your name, mobile number, email, location, experience, current employer, rΓ©sumΓ© link and anything you write in the application.
- Usage data: standard analytics (pages visited, device type) via Google Analytics with IP anonymisation.
How we use it
- To run the marketplace: show listings, connect buyers with our team, process seller submissions.
- To contact you about machines you asked about β by call, WhatsApp, email or push notification.
- To send alerts you asked for (saved-search matches) β you can pause or delete these anytime.
- To send you WhatsApp updates about new machines, price changes and offers β but only if you gave marketing consent, and only using message templates approved in advance by WhatsApp. You can stop these at any time, permanently, by replying STOP or telling us.
- To call you about machines, your enquiry or a machine you want to sell, and to keep a record of what was discussed so the next person who speaks to you already knows.
- To consider you for a role you applied for, and to contact you about it.
- To keep the platform safe: OTP verification, login rate-limiting and fraud prevention.
What we never do
- We never sell your personal data to anyone.
- We never show a seller's contact details publicly. They are shared with a specific buyer only in rare cases, with internal approval, and this action is logged.
- We never send marketing messages to anyone who has not consented, and we never send them again to anyone who has asked us to stop.
- We limit how often marketing reaches you. Even with your consent, we cap the number of promotional WhatsApp messages any one person receives in a month, and we remove duplicate numbers before sending so the same person is never messaged twice for the same campaign.
Who we share data with
- Service providers who help us operate: MSG91 and Meta/WhatsApp (message and OTP delivery), Google (analytics and email delivery), ImageKit (photo hosting) and Railway (server hosting). Each receives only what it needs to perform its service.
- Authorities, if required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active or while it is needed for inquiries, deals and legal record-keeping. Job applications are kept for up to two years so we can consider you for future roles, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. If you opt out of marketing we keep your number on a suppression list β that is the only way to guarantee we never message you again. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.
Your rights
- Access, correct or delete your personal data β message us or email us and we will act on it.
- Withdraw consent for notifications (turn them off on the same button) or alerts (delete them in My Panel).
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time: untick the WhatsApp updates box in your profile, reply STOP to any marketing message, or tell us on WhatsApp or email. Withdrawing is free and takes effect immediately; it does not affect messages about a machine you actually enquired about.
- Ask us to remove your number if we hold it as a business contact and you would rather we did not.
- Complain to us first β we resolve privacy issues quickly.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: your login session and your live-chat session. We do not use advertising cookies.
Children
Our services are for users 18 and above.
Changes
We may update this policy as the platform grows. The effective date above always shows the latest version.
